Manav Seva Charitable and Medical Trust is a non-political, non-profit organization working in the field of differently-abled children. A man with a vision, Mr. Vilas Yewale (Director/Founder) began his journey 30 years ago as a social activist alongside his role as a lab technologist at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai.
Manav Seva started its journey in the year 2001 and was registered under the Charity Commission, Worli, Mumbai. While working in the social field, Manav Seva has conducted various camps focusing on the Palghar district—an area known for its tribal population and the challenges they face, such as child malnutrition, food scarcity, poor health conditions, and socio-economic backwardness.

Mr. Vilas Yewale, along with his professional duties in Jaslok Hospital, came across many issues faced by deprived people (patients) pre- and post-hospitalization with respect to admission, medicine, and billing. So he started helping those socio-economically deprived people, to which he received a good response. After which, there was the birth of an idea—if most of these socio-economically deprived people who look for a helping hand can be helped with pre- and post-hospitalization by getting in cooperation with hospitals. Hence, the formation of Manav Seva Charitable and Medical Trust. Now we have incorporated with almost every hospital across Mumbai, numbering 150–200 centers.
Later, with the help of experienced doctors, we began conducting camps and programs in various regions of Maharashtra under the Trust. In the Palghar district—areas like Dahanu, Jawhar-Mokhada, and Vikramgad—we have organized awareness programs, free medical camps, food and clothing distribution, provision of educational stationery, women empowerment initiatives, and much more. We continue to carry out these activities to this day.
Additionally, we conduct a free medical camp every year during the Ashadi Pandharpur Wari, offering health check-ups for the Varkaris—devotees who march to Pandharpur to worship Lord Vithal. Although we often face financial constraints during these camps, it has never stopped us from extending our services to the needy and underprivileged. We firmly believe that “Service to Man is Service to God.”
